Calling All Directors!

Ongoing Call for Production Proposals

Enosburg Opera House invites directors to submit proposals on a rolling basis for musical and non-musical productions throughout the year.

While we continue our long tradition of a large summer production, we are expanding our season and are interested in three to four productions annually, spanning winter, spring, summer, and fall. This includes full-scale musicals, plays, youth or family productions, and other community-centered theatrical work.

Suggested Titles for a Large Summer Musical

Directors may propose one of the following titles, or suggest an alternative of similar scope:

The Sound of Music
Mary Poppins
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
School of Rock

Do you have another idea?
Absolutely. We welcome proposals for musicals and non-musicals at any point in the year that:
Support strong ensemble work, encourage multigenerational casting, and create meaningful opportunities for community involvement. If you have a play or musical you’ve been eager to bring to life—and think it would resonate in our space—we’d love to hear about it.

What to Include in a Proposal

Proposals may be brief and conversational, and should include:

A short introduction and relevant experience
The title(s) you’re proposing and preferred time(s) of year
Your artistic vision and approach
Estimated budget needs (sets, costumes, technical, etc.)
A general rehearsal and production timeline
Any collaborators you plan to work with
Your approach to casting and engaging performers of varied ages
