Our ‘IN THE HOUSE’ Children’s Camp Spotlight program is designed for children age 6-18 who have a passion for performing or who are eager to step into the world of theater.

Whether your child is a natural actor or simply loves to sing and dance, this program is the perfect way to nurture their talents and build their confidence on stage while they have a blast moving, grooving, and singing to popular songs.

The Theater Camp Dance Group will learn to sing and dance to ten Rock & Roll songs under under the direction of Ernie Hemingway & Brianna Morse.

We will also be joined by Cheryl Ann Kelley’s dance team from The Electric Youth for the final performance on October 3, 2025, at 7PM.

Ernie Hemingway

Ernie is a semi-retired elementary teacher with 33 years working in the Missisquoi Valley School District. Since she was a child, Ernie’s passion has been writing and directing plays for actors in elementary through high school.

Ernie co-owned the “Suitcase Theater”, later renamed the “Backpack Theater”. Currently she co-owns “The Traveling Storyteller and Co, Inc”. All of these endeavors have brought years of fun filled family entertainment throughout the state of Vermont. Ernie has also been the director of the ‘Highgate Actors’ Theater for 33 years. In 2018, MVSD asked Ernie to run a district wide summer theater program called ‘Dramatics’.

This is her second year hosting Spotlight. Ernie also is our summer theater camp director, as well as being a board member for the Opera House at Enosburg Falls.

Brianna Morse
Born and raised in Franklin County, Brianna grew up as a competitive dancer and found a love
for performance early on. While her background is rooted in dance, she’s long been inspired by
the energy and storytelling of live theater. She has had the privilege to teach dance classes,
coach a varsity dance team and choreograph for a variety of performances. Now, she’s excited
to bring her passion for movement to the stage and connect with a new audience through
theater choreography.
